Don't feel embarrassed or ashamed about it. They purposely target people who are in a vulnerable position.

Someone tried this on me several years ago. I ran a photo booth business and someone wanted to hire the photo booth for a prom after party. They sent me photos of the house for the party along with the booking form and I thought that was very unusual. But I sent through the invoice anyway and then they said they would send me a cheque for my photo booth AND to pay for the limo, and they asked if I would then forward the amount to the limo company.

I said, no I prefer not and asked if they could pay the limo company themselves. Sure enough, they never replied and that was the end of that booking.

I then Googled the address they gave me on the booking form and it turns out the house was listed for sale and they had just pulled the photos from the sale listing to try to convince me it was a real booking
